Charter Commission

The Charter Commission has the limited authority to study the Town Charter and recommend any Charter amendments or revisions that the Commission believes to be advisable. Any changes to the Town Charter would have to be approved by Town Meeting voters on a secret ballot before taking effect.

The Charter Commission is governed by Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A, Chapter 111: Home Rule. To view the statute click here.
