Effective immediately per Town Council, all glass now goes in the household trash & will be recycled later at the Fiberight plant. For clarity, windows are considered construction debris and go to Eastern Maine Recycling (EMR) in SW Harbor (fee charged).
Per Town Council, effective immediately due to the high cost of the program, no-cost disposal of bulky waste (i.e., mattresses, couches, chairs) by Bar Harbor customers at EMR in Southwest Harbor is discontinued. Fees will be applied by EMR.
