Meeting Information

  • 1st Wednesday of each month at 4 PM in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building (93 Cottage Street).
  • Find all submission deadlines and meetings dates in the 2026 and early 2027 Planning Board Schedule.
    • The deadline for applications is 20 days prior to a meeting.  
  • By 4:00 PM the Thursday before the regularly scheduled Board meeting, it will be determined if remote participation will be an option for the meeting per the adopted Remote Participation Policy. Unless stated otherwise, the meetings will only be held in-person.
  • Every meeting is recorded and can be watched live on the Town Hill Streams.
  • Find the most recent Planning Board Meeting Agenda and Packet in the Agenda Center.

Below are projects that have begun the site plan approval process, but will not be discussed at the next Planning Board meeting at this time.

MSP-2025-05 - Witham HR Offices

Applicant: Witham Family Limited, LLC

Application: Conversion of two garage spaces into office space.

Location: The property is located at 7 Birch Tree Lane in Bar Harbor (Tax Map 101, Lot 003-001) and contains approximately 0.52 acres. The parcel is situated within the Bar Harbor Gateway District. 

The application can be reviewed in person in the Planning and Code Enforcement office of the Bar Harbor Municipal Building. Due to recent scammer issues, we will not be uploading applications at this time to protect applicant privacy.

Remote Participation Policy


The Planning Board has adopted a policy allowing for remote participation, as allowed under state law. A copy of that policy is available here.

At this time, due to the urgent issue of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic and the declarations of a public health emergency by both the US and Maine departments of Health & Human Services, that remote participation is enforced if deemed necessary by the Planning Board and staff. Please contact the Planning & Code Enforcement office at (207) 288-3329 if you have questions about this.
